The background…

In 1999, Paul Haggath graduated from the Robert Gordon University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hospitality Management. After graduating he spent time gaining experience in the sector including holding a Management position in a local hotel.

In 2000, Paul was employed by a local charity which worked in various parts of the Community. Paul identified the potential hospitality facility that the charity could provide in the main headquarters which included a coffee house and catering.

Paul developed a business plan for a new coffee house business and as part of this plan he commissioned the creation of a logo and brand guidelines for the new business.  In January 2009, Paul and his wife Wendy, purchased SYMPOSIUM coffee house as a going concern and registered it as a Private Limited Company.

In 2013, Wendy-Louise Haggath graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Childhood Practice.  After graduating Wendy opened a Nursery & Preschool in their local town which she operated for a number of years before handing it over to new Directors in order to concentrate more fully on the SYMPOSIUM coffee house business.
